FAA restores Boeing’s authority to self-certify 737 MAX and 787 airworthiness as MAX 7/10 certification expected soon
The FAA says Boeing can resume issuing airworthiness certificates for new aircraft, reclaiming self-certification authority for Boeing employees next week. Separately, the agency expects to certify the 737 MAX 7 and larger 737 MAX 10 soon after an intensive review. A separate US appeals court decertified a shareholder class action related to the MAX 9 Alaska Airlines blowout.
