Trump signs sweeping space order: 2028 Moon landing, 2030 lunar base and lunar/orbital nuclear reactors
President Trump signed a sweeping executive order Dec. 18 directing the U.S. to land astronauts on the Moon by 2028, establish a permanent lunar base by 2030, develop nuclear reactors on the Moon and in orbit, and strengthen measures to deter and defend against space-based threats.
