Japan, US launch joint research into AI safety for Collaborative Combat Aircraft
Japan and the United States have launched joint research into safety-assurance technologies for Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA), concentrating on runtime assurance systems that monitor, constrain and, if necessary, override autonomous AI behaviour. The programme aims to develop tools to detect and halt unsafe AI decisions during missions.
