Fiji Airways trims/halts Pacific capacity to Funafuti as state of emergency follows Middle East-linked fuel shortages

Fiji Airways has capped seat availability on Nadi–Funafuti after Tuvalu declared a state of emergency over critical fuel shortages. The carrier also temporarily reduced network capacity, including cutting Nadi–Brisbane and suspending Airbus A350 services to manage surging fuel costs, with further Brisbane frequency adjustments scheduled for late April through May 2026.
