Spain launches SAETA II integrated combat training with Airbus-led ITS-C for 30 TAI Hurjet trainers
Spain has formally started an industrial programme to replace its aging Northrop F-5 trainer fleet with adapted Turkish Aerospace (TAI) Hurjet aircraft, defining the service name SAETA II. The Airbus-led ITS-C effort covers the integrated combat training process for fighter pilots, with deliveries targeted to begin in 2028 (initial 21 aircraft) and 30 platforms ultimately set for modification.
